Starc has not featured in a T20I match for Australia in more than two years.[/caption] Starc, who last played a T20I for Australia way back in September 2016 against Sri Lanka in Colombo, is coming in as replacement for the injured Billy Stanlake. While this will be more than two years for Starc to feature in a T20I, the last time he played a T20I game on home soil goes way back in February 2014, when he was a part of the Australia XI that squared off against England at the SCG. The left-hander had played for the NSW Blues in their JLT Sheffield Shield drought-breaking win against Queensland in Canberra last week, and had been scheduled to sit out of next week's first-class match as he ramped up preparation for the first Domain Test in Adelaide on December 6. However the absence of Stanlake has altered those plans, with the left-armer linking up with the T20 squad in Sydney on Saturday (November 24), confirmed Australia skipper Aaron Finch. Australia are currently leading the series 1-0 against the No.2 ranked T20 side in the world, as they won the first match by a narrow margin of four runs (DLS method), before the second one getting abandoned owing to rain.
