The last Asia Cup was played in the UAE in 2018. ©Getty Images[/caption] The remaining matches of Pakistan Super League will be played in June, which clashes with scheduled Asia Cup T20 in Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup has been under scrutiny since India looked favourites to make way to ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton in June, which they have accomplished after beating England 3-1 at home. Although reigning Asian champions India reportedly wanted to send second-string side to Sri Lanka. With PSL commitments set, PCB is reluctant towards Asia Cup, stating it will be shifted to 2023, which might be a 50-over one as the World Cup will be held in India later that year. "[PCB chairman Ehsan] Mani made it clear that there was little possibility of the tournament being held this year and it would be moved to 2023 due to the commitments of the participating teams," a PCB source told PTI. Bangladesh, the runners-up of last Asia Cup (ODI) in 2018, too have complexities in schedule. The men's national side has been on the busier side since West Indies series, which will be followed by tours of New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also set dates for Dhaka Premier League T20 in May-June. The domestic tournament will be halted when Sri Lanka arrive to play three ODIs as part of World Cup Super League. The fixtures of DPL are yet to be released as BCB is awaiting a final call on the Asia Cup. A future on the multi-national tournament will be decided at the next ACC (Asian Cricket Council) meeting.
