Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh created history on Friday by becoming Punjab Kings' all-time leading wicket-taker.

Arshdeep, who was only one wicket away from reaching the top of the charts, achieved this feat in Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2025 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

He surpassed Piyush Chawla, the former record holder with 84 wickets in 87 matches and an economy rate of 7.52. Arshdeep dismissed Phil Salt's wicket to become the record holder for Punjab Kings. Then he also dismissed Virat Kohli.

Arshdeep signed for PBKS in 2019 and has been with the team since then. His best season was 2024, when he took 19 wickets in 14 games, including four wicket hauls. Now aged 26, he was also a member of the Indian Under-19 side that won the World Cup in New Zealand under the captaincy of Prithvi Shaw.

Arshdeep made his international debut for India in 2022 and hasn't stopped since. Within a span of less than three years, he ended up becoming Men in Blue's all-time highest wicket-taker in men's T20Is. In 63 T20Is so far, the seamer has picked up 99 wickets and has two four-wicket hauls to his name. He has also represented India nine times in ODIs, picking up 14 wickets at an economy rate of 5.17.
