Scotland wicket-keeper Matt Cross thinks they are in the right track to qualify for Super 8’s after their win against Namibia on Thursday (June 6) in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They beat Namibia by 5 wickets easily.

Brad Wheal and Bradley Currie bowled brilliantly to restrict Namibia under 160. In reply, captain Richie Berrington's (47 off 35) and Michael Leask's quick-fire cameo (35 off 17) helped Scotland topple Namibia.

In the last match, Scotland started very well against England but the match was washed out due to rain. However, Cross is very happy with the win against Namibia. “An important win, we've given ourselves a chance to go through with two more big games to come. Good to be out there and get the job done,” Cross said.

Leask played a destructive innings of 35 runs off just 17 balls with 4 sixes in the chase. Cross praises the all-rounder who also took 1 wicket in bowling. “Leasky can talk and we'll hear about his sixes later. Incredible striking,” Cross added.

However, Cross is looking forward to their all-important next two games as that will determine their qualification in the next stage. “We have to turn up in a couple of days time, have to give ourselves a chance by winning against Oman then it's all guns blazing for Australia,” Cross further said.
