India have beaten Australia by 6 runs on Sunday (3rd December) to wrap up the series by 4-1. Axar Patel's all round brilliance both with bat and ball helped India win over Australia. Axar Patel first scored a quick-fire 31 off 21 balls and then went for a deadly spell of 4-14-1 to win it for India.

Earlier, Aussie skipper Matthew Wade won the toss and chose to bowl first. Coming out to bat, India lost their openers cheaply. Ben Dwarshuis, Jason Behrendorff and Aaron Hardie have been splendid with the new ball. Tanveer Sangha then bowled an economical spell and picked up the wicket of dangerous Rinku Singh.

Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel then pulled India back in the game. Iyer scored a gritty fifty and scored a fine 53 off 37 balls, whereas Axar Patel scored a quick-fire cameo off 31 off just 21 balls which helped India finish on 160.
In reply, Australia started off to a flier yet again. Courtesy Travis Head and his swashbuckling batting. However India pulled things back with 3 wickets in 3 overs and that consists of Head, Philippe and Hardie. Ben Mcdermott and Tim David then stitched a fine partnership for Australia.

McDermott was the accelerator and was shifting the gears for Australia. He played a fine knock of 54 off just 36 deliveries before getting out to Arshdeep Singh. Tim David too was flopped and the equation came down to 11 off 9 balls.

Australia then couldn’t chase it down as they needed 10 off 6 balls and Wade gave two dots and got out in the third ball and Australia fell into abysmal and lost the match by 6 runs.
