New Zealand have beaten India by 25 runs to complete the cleansweep by 3-0. Ajaz Patel's venomous 6 wicket-haul has knocked over India for a measly 121 runs. New Zealand are the first team to whitewash India in India since 1999.

Ajaz Patel ran riot through the Indian batting lineup to hand New Zealand a crashing 25 runs victory to complete the whitewash. New Zealand added only 1 run overnight and set a target of only 147 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up a fifer, while Ravichandran Ashwin had three wickets to his name.

However, 147 was always meant to be probing on the Wankhede pitch.

Chasing 147, India lost Rohit Sharma to Matt Henry. The pitch was spinning, so Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips came in to bowl earlier on. Ajaz then knocked over Shubman Gill and removed Virat Kohli cheaply in the consecutive overs. Sarfaraz Khan's rough patch continued as he was removed after scoring only 1 and Glenn Phillips trapped Yashasvi Jaiswal for LBW. India were all sorts of trouble, stuttering on 29-5.

Rishabh Pant came in and counter punched the Kiwis. He had Ravindra Jadeja as his partner and added 42 runs on 6th wicket stand before Ajaz removed the latter one. Pant brought up an outstanding fifty and scored 64 off 57 balls on a minefield. India needed more 41 runs after the departure of Pant.

Washington Sundar slowly kept stitching partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin but Glenn Phillips dismissed Ashwin and Akash Deep in a single over to leave India crumble. And then Ajaz Patel came in and knocked over Sundar to hand New Zealand a crashing 25 runs victory.

New Zealand have whitewashed India by 3-0. Ajaz Patel, the hero behind this thumping victory as his fifer in the first innings and 6 fer in the second innings ensured New Zealand's victory.
