After playing three matches for Fortune Barishal, Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik bid farewell to this year's BPL. The franchise informed BDCricTime that its compatriot batter Ahmed Shehzad is joining Fortune Barishal as Malik's replacement.

Ahmed Shehzad will join the team on Friday. Fortune Barishal's next match is against Chattogram Challengers on Saturday. Shehzad can be seen in Barishal's jersey in that match.

So far Fortune Barishal have won one of three matches.   Shoaib Malik was in the eleven of the three matches. But this all-rounder was unrepentant. The 41-year-old all-rounder scored an unbeaten 17 runs off 18 balls in the first match against Rangpur Riders. In that match he took 1 wicket with 9 runs in 1 over. In the next match against Khulna Tigers, he scored only 5 from 6 balls, giving 18 runs in one over where he bowled three no balls. In the third match, he got out by 7 runs against Comilla Victorians. 

Shehzad scored 6838 runs at an average of 29.34 and a strike rate of 124.07 after playing 249 matches in his T20 career. Among them, the number of international T20 matches is 59. He scored 1471 runs at an average of 25.80 in international T20.

A few days ago, he scored 384 runs at an average of 43 in 9 innings for Lahore Whites in Pakistan's domestic tournament National T20 Cup. Ahmed Shehzad played for Barishal Burners in the first season of BPL. He became the highest run-getter of the tournament by scoring 486 runs in 12 innings.
