Agrani Bank Cricket Club beat Brothers Union by 4 wickets in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) 2024-25 on Monday (April 7), reaching their goal of 239 with just 8 balls to spare at BKSP's Ground No. 4.
After winning the toss, Agrani Bank chose to bowl first, which put Brothers Union to the test right away. But the batting team worked hard and scored 238 runs in 50 overs, which was a good score. The game was led by Alok Kapali, a veteran player who made 58 runs off of 57 balls. Mizanur Rahman (44 off 45) and Sohag Gazi (34 off 35) gave the team the support it needed for a strong finish.
The players for Agrani Bank did a good job of splitting up the work. Taibur Rahman had the most wickets with 4. Ruyel Miah and Arif Ahmed each had two. Robiul Hoque added one of his own.
Agrani Bank's response was that the chase was a great example of how everyone can work together. With 44 off 56 balls, Shadman Islam got the game off to a good start. Marshall Ayub then followed with a cool 41 off 59 balls. But in the last few balls, Shuvagata Hom made a huge difference by hitting 45 off of just 35 balls, which helped Agrani win with 4 wickets and 8 balls to spare.
The bowlers for Brothers Union tried to make a game of it, and Jayed Ullah took two wickets.
