Afghanistan to tour UAE later this month

On Thursday, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced that the squad would travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month to compete in a series of three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and two 50-over warmup matches against the UAE. The matches will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.

Additionally, the performance contributed to the enhancement of their status as a cricketing nation that is rapidly advancing. The series against the United Arab Emirates will assist Afghanistan prepare for the tough trip of India, which is scheduled to take place in January. Afghanistan will also play India in a three-match Twenty20 International series.
"Our collaboration with the Emirates Cricket Board has been helpful. The inaugural UAE Series earlier this year offered us an excellent foundation to prepare for the following events throughout the year. Banking on our positive previous experience, we eagerly anticipate the upcoming UAE series for the same purpose again," Naseeb Khan, CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board said in an official statement.
In the meantime, Mubashshir Usmani, the General Secretary of the Emirates Cricket Board, praised Afghanistan's efforts in the World Cup and admitted that the country has a significant number of fans in the United Arab Emirates. He has high hopes that his guys would greatly benefit from the experience of playing against a team like Afghanistan.
“We are delighted to host the Afghanistan team for the second time this year. We had a hugely competitive T20I series in February and this tour will once again provide excellent opportunities to our seasoned as well as young players against a formidable opponent. Afghanistan performed incredibly well in the ODI World Cup, and they are a team on the rise with a strong support base in the UAE. We look forward to welcoming the Afghanistan team," Usmani said.
