Leg-spinner Adil Rashid thinks that middle-order batter Harry Brook could one day lead England. Brook was recently named captain of The Hundred's Northern Superchargers. Brook will be captain of the Superchargers when they play the Southern Brave at Headingley on Tuesday. He has been in charge of England's U19 team before.

Rashid believes Brook's new role as captain brings a fresh perspective and could pave the way for future leadership opportunities. "With Brooky having the captaincy, it is something fresh, and hopefully looking forward into the future, it is something I personally believe he can take [forward]," Rashid stated.

Brook is expected to bring calmness, clarity, and his world-class skills to the role. Rashid is excited about Brook’s potential as a leader. "He will bring that calmness, that clarity, obviously he will bring those world-class skills as a player. It is an exciting time for him to lead the Superchargers, the first time he is doing it, but he has all the backing of everyone here," Rashid added.

The Leggie also suggested that Brook’s captaincy stint with the Superchargers could eventually lead to him captaining the England national team. "Potentially [it could lead to the England captaincy]. Everyone starts somewhere,” he said.

"Some captains started at 22 or 23, got into that role and became captain of more squads and teams as they got better, with more experience and they gained more confidence. When that happens, naturally they go on further and represent England [as captain]," the leg-spinner elaborated.

Rashid is confident that Brook will gain valuable experience as the Superchargers captain, helping him develop into a positive and composed leader. "This is definitely a starter for him to captain here at the Superchargers and it is just about getting that experience. I am sure he will be a captain that is calm, but is positive and looks at things in a positive manner,” Rashid concluded.
