Abdul Mazid's 95 eclipses Rishad's fifer as Brothers Union beat Shinepukur by 26 runs

Brothers Union beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by 26 runs on Thursday (28th March). Shinepukur's leg spinner Rishad Hossain picked up fifer. But his fifer went in vain as Brothers Union's Abdul Mazid eclipsed Rishad's fifer.

Earlier, opting to bat first, Brothers Union had an opening stand of 45 runs. Opener Rahmatullah got out on 20 off 39 balls. And then they lost two more wickets in quick succession. Brothers Union were marginalised for 61-3.
Mahmudul Hasan and Abdul Mazid came as deity for Brothers Union. Mazid brought up an important fifty. But Mahmudul couldn’t notch up fifty as his innings ended on 36 off 55 balls. And also Mazid missed his well deserved hundred as he fell on 95 off 135 balls. Rahmatul Ferdaus played a quick-fire cameo of 32 from 21 balls to post 222 runs on the board for Brothers Union.
Rishad Hossain was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up a fifer. And then Arafat Sunny had 2 wickets to his name.
In reply, Shineupukur had a flying start, courtesy Tanzid Hasan Tamim. The opening stand was worth of 48 runs. But Tanzid couldn’t long his innings as his innings ended on 41 off only 24 balls. Rishad Hossain was promoted to up the order at number 3. But he couldn’t do anything big for his side as he fell on 9 after consuming 31 balls. After the departure of Rishad, Shinepukur were out of the match.
At the end, they were bowled out for 196 runs and as a result Brothers Union had a victory of 26 runs. Monir Hossain and Rahmanullah Ali had 3 wickets each. Abu Hayder Roni had two victims to his name.
