Abahani Limited crashed Shinepukur Cricket Club by 7 wickets on Sunday (17th March). Batting first, Shinepukur were bundled for a paltry 169 runs infront of a quality Abahani bowling attack. Fifties from Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Naim Sheikh aided Abahani chase down the total comfortably. Litton Das failed in the DPL as well.

Litton failed in the DPL as well after getting axed from the ODI side. 

Shinepukur didn’t start well after batting first. Khaled Ahmed was running riot and removed the entire top order. He picked up 3 wickets with the new ball in the powerplay. Saifuddin then had two crucial wickets of Irfan Shukkur and Jishan Alam and Shinepukut were crumbling on 47-5.

Skipper Akbar Ali and Mehrab then took the onus on their shoulders. They stitched a fine partnership of 67 runs. Akbar Ali blazed a fantastic 55 off only 44 balls before falling to Afif Hossain. No one then couldn’t make their knock longer.

Shinepukur managed to post only 169 runs. Afif Hossain and Khaled Ahmed shared 3 wickets each to wrap up Shinepukur's innings early.

In reply, Abahani fell in trouble losing their wk opener Sabbir Hossain. Number three batter Litton Das also failed to capitalise his chances. And then Naim Sheikh and Mahmudul Hasan Joy had a match turning partnership. Naim scored a gritty 66 off 87 balls before his departure.

And then Joy and Afif Hossain stitched a partnership of 76 runs which comfortably helped Abahani Limited chase down the measly total.
