Kolkata Knight Riders have beaten Delhi Capitals by 106 runs on Wednesday (3rd April) in a high scoring affair. Sunil Narine's blitzkrieg 85 off 39 deliveries and Angkrish Raghuvanshi's 54 off 27 balls helped them to post 272-7 on the board. In reply, Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarty's 3 fer apiece handed KKR a massive victory over DC.
Sunil Narine scored his highest T20 score against DC.
Earlier, opting to bat first, Sunil Narine came with all the guns blazing to race his way to half century off just 21 balls, he was well supported by 18 year old Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The duo teared apart the DC bowlers with their brutal bashing. An absolute 48 ball carnage between these two added 104 runs to the tally. Sunil Narine scored his highest total in T20 Cricket, while Angkrish also showed his class at the highest level. At the backend of the innings, Caribbean superstar Andre Russell did what he does the best. Ripping through the death bowling of DC and scored a jaw dropping 41 off only 19 balls. KKR posted a huge 272-7 on the board.
In reply, Vaibhav Arora and Mitchell Starc showed their class with the new ball. It all started with Prithibi Shaw as Arora removed him. Starc then got Marsh for a 2 ball duck and then chopped on the stumps of Warner and had a brilliant spell to start his innings. Varun Chakravarty chipped in with wickets in the middle overs and kept DC under pressure always from the start of the chase.
Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs had a scare at the middle, as the duo stitched up a 93 run stand but Varun removed Stubbs and broke the stand. However after the departure of these two, DC were far behind of the target. DC just managed to score 166-10 on the board and lost the match by 106 runs. Sunil Narine was adjusted man of the match for his onslaught of 85 from 39 balls.
