A professional performance: Marsh after dominating win against Namibia

Australia annihilated Namibia by 9 wickets with more than 14 overs left on Wednesday (12th June) at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. The Aussie bowlers ripped through the Namibian batting lineup early on and even though a lone hand from Gerhard Erasmus, the total 72 wasn’t standard in front of Australia.

Australia captain Pat Cummins praises the bowlers after their dominating win against Namibia in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. With the win, Australia are the second team after South Africa to qualify for the Super Eight stage.

David Warner was on a hurry, started to smack from ball one and then Travis Head joined the party with Mitchell Marsh finished things off with late blitz. They chased down the target from just 34 balls.

“I thought it was a great performance from our bowling team. It was a beautiful wicket, a bit of swing out there. A professional performance. Great to qualify for the Super Eight,” Marsh said.

Marsh also hints on giving rest to players against Scotland to manage workloads before the Super Eight stage. Australia will face Scotland in their last group-stage match on June 16. “We get really busy after the game against Scotland and we will try to manage (our workloads). Hopefully we can win that and then move into the Super Eight,” Marsh added.

Spinner Adam Zampa was fabulous again in the match. He took 4 wickets in 4 overs conceding 12 runs and was adjudged man of the match. Marsh praises Zampa and says that he’s the most important player of their structure. “If you look at his career, over the past four or five years, he is probably our most important player, in our structure. He loves the big moment, the pressure and he is bowling beautifully at the moment,” Marsh further said.
