10 Bangladeshi cricketers, including women’s team pace bowler Jahanara Alam, have been named in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) players' draft. Jahanara is the only female player from Bangladesh listed in the draft for the Women's BBL, while nine male cricketers have registered for the men's event.

Among the men, the names included are Hasan Mahmud, Jaker Ali Anik, Mohammad Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain, Rony Talukdar, Shamim Hossain, Taijul Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

A total of 432 players have registered for the men's draft, and 161 for the women's draft, representing 30 countries. Notable stars like Jofra Archer, Lungi Ngidi, and Haris Rauf are among the top names in the men's category, while 19 Indian cricketers feature in the women's draft.

The players' draft for this season will take place in Melbourne on September 1. Before the draft, each BBL team was allowed to sign one male and one female player. Some of the early signings include Ollie Pope and Smriti Mandhana for Adelaide Strikers, Colin Munro and Nadine de Klerk for Brisbane Heat, and Chris Jordan and Lizelle Lee for Hobart Hurricanes.

In the men's BBL, teams must include a minimum of two foreign players, with a maximum of four allowed. The players are categorized into four salary brackets: Platinum (USD 360,000 to 420,000), Gold (USD 300,000), Silver (USD 200,000), and Bronze (up to USD 100,000).

The inclusion of Bangladesh players in both men's and women's drafts highlights the growing interest and talent pool of the country in international T20 leagues.
