At the end of the second day of the Harare Test, no team have been able to proceed. Zimbabwe-Sri Lanka is still in almost equal position.
ZIM vs SL, 2nd Test: Both teams in equilibrium position after day two
Sri Lanka finished the day with 122 for 2 in reply to Zimbabwe's 406 runs in first innings. On the first day, Sean Williams (107) scored a brilliant century and Zimbabwe finished the day with 352 runs for 6 wickets. From there, the rest of the batsmen were able to add just 54 runs with the loss of last 4 wickets. Regis Chakabva, who started the day with 31 runs with his name, could not add any run on the second day. Tinotenda Mutombodzi scored 33 runs who came down to bat with 10 runs at the start of the second day. The most successful Sri Lankan bowler was Lasith Embuldeniya. The left-arm spinner took 4 wickets for 182 runs. Dhananjaya de Silva took three wickets. In reply, Sri Lankan openers- Dimuth Karunaratne and Oshada Fernando started very well as they added 94 runs in the first wicket.
fell Karunaratne in the trap of a leg-before-wicket before he hit a half-century. Karunaratne scored 44 runs. Other opener- Fernando wasn’t able to pick-up his half-century also as he got out scoring same runs as Karunaratne. Pacer Donald Tripano took his wicket and Sri Lanka finished the day with 122 runs losing 2 wickets.
