Former cricketer Yograj Singh created a whole new storm during a controversial interview with News 18. He criticised MS Dhoni for his son’s exclusion from the team and claimed that Dhoni deliberately lost the semi final to make sure that he would remain the only modern-day Indian skipper with a World cup to his kitty.
He started off the interview by adding that it was not just Mahendra Singh Dhoni alone but a few others like Ravi Shashtri, MSK Prasad and the north zone selector who he claims called Yuvraj Singh old enough to not be in the team.
Yograj also argued the decision to make MS Dhoni captain when Yuvraj Singh was the senior of the two. He went on to speak about the bad blood between the two cricketers and also credited Anil Kumble for bringing Yuvraj Singh back.
As per Yograj, Anil Kumble was axed from Indian set-up just because Ravi Shastri suits Dhoni’s personality more. As soon as Shastri was recruited the head coach, Yuvraj was dropped from the team. Yograj Singh says that once Yuvi was dropped then Dhoni automatically becomes the senior most player of the team and allegedly he can control
