In a tense moment during the IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) fast bowler Sandeep Sharma was struck on the chest by an unexpected throw from his own teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The incident took place in the 7th over of the match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Travis Head played a straight shot towards Jaiswal who was fielding at long-off. As Jaiswal returned the ball it unexpectedly hit Sandeep Sharma on the left side of his chest near the shoulder blade.

Sharma who was walking back to his run-up was caught completely off guard. The impact left him in visible pain and he didn’t seem pleased with the incident. Despite the discomfort he quickly shook it off and resumed bowling.

At the time of writing SRH are 212/3 in 15.1 overs Travis Head delivered a blistering performance, scoring 67 off just 31 balls, smashing 9 fours and 3 sixes. He maintained a staggering strike rate of 216 before getting dismissed caught by Shimron Hetmyer off Tushar Deshpande’s bowling.
