Australia's young batting sensation, Sam Konstas, marked his international debut in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with an aggressive half-century. The 19-year-old became the second-youngest Australian to score a fifty in Test cricket, crafting a brisk 60 off 65 balls before falling to India’s Ravindra Jadeja.

The first session of the match witnessed not only Konstas' impressive stroke play but also a tense altercation between him and Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli. The confrontation happened after the 10th over when Konstas, walking towards his partner Usman Khawaja after taking a single, bumped into Kohli. Neither player changed their path, leading to a shoulder bump and a verbal exchange between the two. The situation was diffused by umpire Michael Gough and Khawaja, preventing further escalation.

Konstas’ innings was packed with intent, as he dominated the Indian bowlers, showing no signs of nerves in his maiden appearance.
