Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced a nightmare start in Match 41 of IPL 2025 but what really stole the headlines was a bizarre dismissal involving Ishan Kishan that left fans stunned.

SRH were already struggling after losing early wickets and things went from bad to worse when Kishan was controversially given out in the third over of the innings. What made the incident more puzzling was that neither the bowler Deepak Chahar nor the wicketkeeper Ryan Rickelton appealed for a dismissal. Still the umpire raised his finger.

The ball was a gentle one drifting down the leg side. Kishan tried to flick it but missed and Rickelton collected it cleanly. No bat involved. No appeal. Yet the umpire gave him out. And here’s the most shocking part Ishan Kishan didn’t take a DRS.

Replays confirmed there was no edge on the bat and the snickometer was completely flat. Fans and experts are still scratching their heads wondering why he didn’t review such a clear error.

Following the decision, SRH's batting completely collapsed, going from bad to worse at 35/5 within 9 overs. The only bright spot for the team came from Heinrich Klaasen who played a brilliant knock of 71 off 44 balls and helped SRH post a fighting total of 143/8 in 20 overs.
