The sixth edition of the BPL started in a dull way and faced a lot of criticism at the beginning. The tournament kicked-off just after the generation election of the country. So the hype for this season's BPL was less than the earlier ones. But as the tournament progressed, things started changing.
With better technology and better pitches, the tournament started to deliver thrilling encounters. Chittagong Vikings, who were not a strong team on paper were at the top of the points table at a stage. Comilla also didn't start off well under the captaincy of Steve Smith.
But things started to go in favour of Comilla after the local stars started to perform. They grabbed 14 points and were at second in the points table and qualified for the play-offs. And they went onto the qualify in the final after beating Rangpur Riders comfortably in the Qualifier 1 match.
While on the other hand, Comilla's opponent in the final Dhaka Dynamites had to struggle a lot to play in the final.
