Kolkata Knight Riders crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs on Thursday (April 3) at the Eden Gardens. Venkatesh Iyer's swashbuckling 60 off 29 deliveries and Angkrish Raghuvanshi's 50 from 32 balls helped the hosts get to 200 on the board. In response, Varun Chakaravarthy and Vaibhav Arora shared three wickets each as KKR claimed a massive 80 runs victory.

SRH had no answers of Varun Chakaravarthy as he returned figures with 3/22. Being inserted to bat first, KKR had a shaky start, losing both openers inside the powerplay. However, skipper Rahane [38 off 27 balls] and Angkrish Raghuvanshi [50 off 32 balls] steadied the hosts innings with a crucial 81-run partnership for the third wicket. But their dismissals in the quick succession put KKR in a spot to bother.

But late order batter Venkatesh Iyer [60 off 29] and Rinku Singh [32* off 17] turned the game towards KKR. Despite their slow starts, they finished on a high, stitching a swashbuckling 91-run stand off just 41 balls as KKR finished with a massive 200 on the board after alloted 20 overs.

In response, Vaibhav Arora dismissed danger man Travis Head cheaply, setting the tone for a dominant bowling display as the tourists soon were reeling at 9/3.

SRH's ultra-agressive mood proved to costly for them as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never found any rhythm in the chase. SRH were bundled out for a paltry 120 runs.

Varun Chakaravarthy (3/22) and Vaibhav Arora (3/29) starred with the ball for KKR, ensuring a comprehensive victory over the SRH infront of their home crowd.
