Trent Bridge in Nottinghamshire will officially rename its Pavilion End to the Stuart Broad End ahead of the second Test between England and the West Indies, starting July 18. This ceremony will pay tribute to one of England's greatest fast bowlers, Stuart Broad, who retired after last year's Ashes series against Australia.

“Ticket-holders for day one of the Trent Bridge Test are advised to take their seats by 10.40 am as we officially rename the Pavilion End of our venue in honour of Stuart Broad,” Nottinghamshire CC said in a statement.

Chris Broad, Stuart's father, expressed his delight at Nottinghamshire's decision. He shared how emotional Stuart was upon seeing the scoreboard bearing his name. “I'm delighted that the Nottinghamshire Committee decided that Stuart should be remembered in this way. To have an end named after him is a complete delight. It was quite surreal, the first time I visited Trent Bridge this year, to hear the announcement that the bowler was bowling from the Stuart Broad End,” Chris said.

Chris added, "I took a picture of the scoreboard and sent it to Stuart, and he was a little bit emotional seeing his name up there. I'm so proud and privileged to see him being given that honour."

Between 2007 and 2023, Stuart Broad picked up 604 wickets in 167 Test matches for the English team. In his final test match, which took place at The Oval in July 2023, he finished his career by hitting a six off the very last ball he batted and taking a wicket off the very last ball he bowled.
