Kane Williamson (Gujarat Titans), Tim Southee (Kolkata Knight Riders), Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner (both Chennai Super Kings) have been released from the Tour and allowed to compete in the IPL according to their wishes.

Finn Allen (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Lockie Ferguson (KKR) and Glenn Phillips (Sunrisers Hyderabad) will also join their respective squads after ending the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. Kylie Jamieson and Trent Boult are also likely to miss the pre-IPL 16 tour.

The New Zealand team traveled to Pakistan to play three ODIs. They beat Pakistan 2-1 in the series. The New Zealand team will travel from Sri Lanka to Pakistan after completing their tour. NZC are expected to announce their squad for the Pakistan tour during their ongoing tour of Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Pakistan will play three T20Is against Afghanistan in Sharjah. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given rest to its players including regular captain Babar Azam.

From the looks of it, the New Zealand squad will miss the tour and take part in the moneyed Indian Premier League. It might be sad for fans as they only saw the full-strength Kiwi squad in the Test series earlier this year.
