Bangladesh HP team have beaten Melbourne Renegades by 77 runs on Sunday (11th August). Bangladesh HP team posted 170 runs on the board while batting first. In reply, Melbourne Renegades were skittled on 93 runs only, suffering a huge defeat of 77 runs.

Parvez Hossain Emon blasted 69 to help Bangladesh HP post 170 on the board. 
After winning the toss, Melbourne Renegades opted to bowl first. Jishan Alam and Tanzid Hasan Tamim added 19 runs to the opening pair, Tamim departed after scoring a sedate 9 off 17 balls. Jishan also followed his partner and got out on 10 off 10. Afif Hossain was gone on a golden duck.

Bangladesh HP team were stuttering on 45-3 but then skipper Akbar Ali and Parvez Hossain Emon came to salvage the situation. The duo added 47 runs on the 4th wicket partnership. And then Emon and Shamim Patwari adder 51 runs on the 5th wicket to steer the ship. Emon played a blockbuster of a knock, hammering 69 runs off only 48 deliveries at a strike rate of 144.

In reply, Melbourne Renegades had a terrific start as their opening pair raced their way to 34 runs inside 4 overs. Abu Haider Rony then gave Bangladesh the much needed breakthrough removing Harry Dixon. Spinner Rakibul came to the attack and got the second one. Mughdo had two wickets in the middle overs and Renegades were searching for a partnership.

Ripon Mondol came in the 16th over and claimed three wickets in a single over to break the backbone of Renegades. Rakibul then finished things off with his twice breaker and Bangladesh had a thumping 77 run victory to kick off the Top End T20 Tournament.
