Taskin who missed out on various offers to play in franchise leagues due to many different reasons, finally gets his opportunity.

Taskin was the third Bangladeshi to be listed in the auction. Before him, Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim were listed but remained unsold.

Liton was the first Bangladeshi cricketer to be listed in the auction, with a base price of 30 thousand dollars, which is more than 35 lakh taka. Another wicketkeeper-batter, Mushfiqur Rahim, had an even higher base price. Despite a base price of 50 thousand dollars, or more than 58 lakh taka, he also remained unsold.

Before the auction, Mustafizur Rahman was signed directly. He was taken by the Bangladeshi-owned franchise Dambulla Thunders as a foreign icon cricketer.
