Bangladesh cricketer Taskin Ahmed has been in great rhythm in recent times. His sharp bowling in batters-friendly formats like T10 has caught everyone's attention. The pacer has received a major award - Sheikh Kamal National Sports Council Award 2023.
A total of 10 sports personalities and two organizations have been given this award, including Taskin. Taskin was also seen exchanging some dialogues while receiving the award from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. After talking to the media, Taskin said that the Prime Minister wished the team all the best for the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.
“It is a matter of great pride for me to receive the National Award for the first time from the Hon'ble Prime Minister. I feel really good. The Prime Minister herself was saying that Asia Cup and World Cup are ahead. Good luck to all, play well,” Taskin said.
Having bowled well for Bulawayo Braves in the Zim Afro T10 League, Taskin is hopeful of using his experience in a tougher format like the T10 in the coming days. He added, “If you can perform well anywhere, confidence increases. Hope this helps too. T10 is a tough format. InshaAllah it will help in the next matches to some extent.”
Although Taskin did not get LPL's NOC, a bunch of Bangladeshi cricketers are playing there currently. While Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Mithun, Shoriful Islam, Towhid Hridoy are busy in LPL, Litton Das is playing Global T20 Canada. Mushfiqur Rahim played Zim Afro T10 with Taskin.
"This is a very positive sign," Taskin further said. “We are doing well as a team and individually. Every league is showing interest in us, which is great.”
