Hosts Bangladesh and the visiting Zimbabwe are battling it out in the first Test match at Sylhet, which has become Bangladesh's 8th, and overall 116th Test venue of the world,
The picturesque Sylhet stadium is already regarded as the most good looking ground of the country, but Rajin, who has just announced his retirement from first-class cricket after the final round of National Cricket League (NCL), believes there isn't any ground in Asia better than this.
"It's not just of Bangladesh, it's overall one of best Test grounds in Asia. We need to host here as many matches as possible. On this special day I am feeling very proud," said Sylhet's local boy Rajin.
Rajin had dreams to play 100 Tests for Bangladesh, but he could not play more than 24. After making his Test debut back in 2003, Rajin had been a regular face in Bangladesh's Test squad till 2008. But since then, the right-hand batsman has been out of the team for more than a decade.
However, calling his playing career a day doesn not mean the end of Rajin's association with cricket. He thinks he has still a lot to give to the beautiful game.
"I am looking forward to give something to cricket. I want to do something for the progress of Sylhet's regional cricket. I will return as a coach very soon," said the 34-year-old.
