Six Sri Lankan players have gained career-best ratings in the latest ICC Men's Test rankings after their superb triumph over England at the Kennington Oval, London in the third Test.
Sri Lanka have upset England in the third Test by 8 wickets and claimed their fourth Test victory in England. Pathum Nissanka's swashbuckling hundred led them through the win, while pacers Lahiru Kumara and Vishwa Fernando ran riot through the English batting lineup in the second innings to fold them up before 150.
Nissanka has jumped a whopping 42 spots to 39th following his incredible 64 and 127*. While Mendis has cruised passed 6 places and improved to 19th position. However, England's talismanic batter Joe Root has firmed his No.1 position despite his poor outing at the Kennington Oval.
Sri Lankans Lahiru Kumara (up 10 spots to 32nd) and Milan Rathnayake (up 26 spots to equal 84th) also made some ground after the historic victory.
After Josh Inglis' magnificent hundred in the second T20I against Scotland, he jumped 28 places and moved to 23rd position. Aussie white-ball captain Mitchell Marsh too improved a bit, upping the position for two spots to move to equal 17th.
