Sri Lanka has named its men's and women's squads for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, which will take place from September 23 to October 8.
Sri Lanka Cricket has announced 15-member men's and women's squads for the upcoming Asian Games.
The men's squad corresponds to a Sri Lanka senior team, which will be captained by Sahan Arachchige, while Chamari Athapaththu will be the captain of the women's team.
Matches begin in Hangzou on September 23rd, with the cricket competition starting on September 27th. Sri Lanka qualified directly for the quarterfinals alongside India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in both the men's and women's categories.
The four top seeds - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh - will begin their respective campaigns from the quarterfinals. The remaining 11 teams, however, start in the group phase. The four group winners will meet the top seeded teams in the quarterfinals.
In the women's tournament, however, eight teams will compete against each other at the Asian Games. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh begin their campaigns in the quarterfinals. The remaining four teams were divided into two groups. The schedule for the quarterfinals will be determined after a qualifying tournament. All cricket matches, both men's and women's, are played at the Pingfeng Cricket Field of Zhejiang University of Technology.
