Aussie left-arm quick Spencer Johnson has been ruled out of the next month's UK tour due to side strain. Sean Abbott named as the replacement of Johnson.

Spencer Johnson Spencer Johnson was playing The Hundred 2024 for Oval Invincibles. It has been a lean season for him, claiming only two wickets in his six outings. However, he did produce an impressive spell against Northern Superchargers, where he picked up one wicket and gave away just 10 runs in 20 deliveries. However, now he'll miss The Hundred and the entire UK tour due to picking up a side strain.

Johnson played five T20I's and one ODI match for the Green and Gold last year after making his international debut against South Africa. While his replacement, Sean Abbot featured in 15 T20I's and is the leading wicket-taker in the Big Bash history with 165 scalps to his name.

Mitchell Starc has been rested from T20I's, while Pat Cummins will miss the entire UK tour and will focus on Sheffield Shield to gear up for the upcoming high-octane Border-Gavasker Trophy against India. Another indomitable force in Aussie pace lineup Josh Hazlewood is part of both the formats. While Mitchell Marsh will lead Australia both in ODI's and T20I's.
