Bangladesh Women's have piled up 252 in the first ODI against Ireland Women's on Wednesday (November 27) in Dhaka. Sharmin Akhter's sublime 95 and Fargana Haque's gutsy 61 have helped Bangladesh Women's reach to 252 on the board.
Opting to bat first in Dhaka, the opening duo of Bangladesh Women's; Fargana Haque and Murshida Khatun were superb in the first hour. The duo were scratchy earlier on, but as the time went by they became fluent and stitched up for a fine 59-run opening stand before Laura Delany removed Murshida Khatun for 38 off 61 balls.
Fargana then partnered up with skipper Sharmin Akhter and they plundered the Irish bowling lineup, tearing them apart, scoring at almost 6 per over. The duo strung there for a sensational 104-run stand before Aimee Maguire had Fargana for 61 off 110 balls.
Sharmin was still there and she had Nigar Sultana with her. The duo mastered the pitch and hammered Ireland for a blitzkrieg partnership of 60 runs before Nigar Sultana Sultana was departed to Freya Sargent.
Sharmin Akhter too fell to Sargent and agonisingly missed a sensational hundred as she scored 95 off only 83 deliveries.
Bangladesh Womens managed to get a daunting total of 252 on the board. Freya Sargent picked up two wickets, while Laura Delany and Aimee Maguire shared one wicket each.
