Bangladesh have posted 171 on the board in the third ODI against the Kiwis. Najmul Hossain Shanto's lone 76 and some supports from here and there helped Bangladesh post a below par 171 on the board.

Shanto's fighting 76 helped Bangladesh post 171 on the board. Bangladesh after winning the toss chose to bat first. Being inserted into bowl first, Adam Milne removed the debutant Zakir Hasan for a 5 ball 1. And then Kiwi pace spearhead Trent Boult got the wicket of Tanzid Tamim to leave Bangladesh in trouble. Milne was breathing fire as he yet again got another one and he this time picked up the wicket of on song Towhid Hridoy. Bangladesh were stuttering for 35-3.

However, stand in skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim stitched a moderate partnership with Shanto smashing brilliantly. But Mushfiqur threw his wicket away for 18 off 25. Mahmudullah got a fine start as he was dealing in boundaries but couldn’t prolong his innings as he went back to the pavilion scoring 21 off 27 balls. Despite the falling wickets, Najmul Shanto was playing fantastically as he notched up a brilliant fiftu under immense pressure as it was his captaincy debut day.

Bangladesh lost all of their recognised batters except Shanto inside 27 overs and were crumbling for 156-6. New Zealand were kept chipping away with wickets but Shanto was resolute at one end and was holding Bangladesh's innings up single handedly. But Cole McConchie came and he trapped Shanto for LBW and he was gone for an absolute fine innings of 76 from 84 deliveries. After the departure of Shanto, Bangladesh were bundled just inside 3 overs and posted a below par 171 on the board.
