How effective is the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in the Bangladesh national team - this question arises in the minds of many. However, the country's biggest cricket star Shakib Al Hasan thinks that BPL has a big role in the performance of T20 teams in international cricket. And so, the T20 captain hopes to maintain the momentum at which the T20 team is moving in the coming days.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play a three-match T20I series against New Zealand before the next season of BPL, followed by Sri Lanka after the BPL. T20 World Cup will be held in the same year. The team, which has been playing well since the last T20 World Cup, will be away from the shortest format for a long time. Shakib hopes to regain that momentum from the BPL.

He said, “Momentum is very important in T20. So far we have good momentum. There will be a big gap ahead. Probably the next series is in around January-February, after the BPL. One thing is good - domestic players perform well after BPL. I am hopeful, when we bring forward those who will perform well in BPL, we will continue to get good results.”

Shakib is very optimistic about the team. This year is going like a dream for the T20 team. They won 7 of last 8 matches. Shakib is naturally very happy with the team's performance. Especially Shakib's eyes are satisfied with the rise of young and new cricketers.

Shakib added, “Hridoy and others have been there since the World Cup. Most are from Asia Cup or World Cup. 2-4 cricketers come and go, it's a continuous process to find the best combination. There is still much left to do. The way the conditions are going so far, I think we are in a very good position. Different conditions will certainly bring new challenges. We have to adapt with those situations then.”
