Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Chittagong Kings ahead of the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The franchise made the announcement via their official Facebook page, confirming the much-anticipated news.

On October 15, Chittagong Kings teased a big announcement with a social media post, where many fans speculated it might involve the iconic “Boom Boom” Afridi due to hints in the graphic. Their guesses were proven correct as Afridi was officially introduced as the team’s ambassador for this season.

Afridi, who previously played in the BPL for franchises like Dhaka Gladiators, Dhaka Platoon, and Rangpur Riders, will be making his debut in the league in this new role as an ambassador. While no longer an active player in the BPL, Afridi’s brand continues to resonate with fans across the cricket world.

Chittagong Kings have built a formidable squad for the upcoming BPL season, featuring international stars like Shakib Al Hasan, Angelo Mathews, Moeen Ali, and Mohammad Wasim Jr., along with young talents like Shamim Hossain and Parvez Hossain Emon, both part of Bangladesh's U19 World Cup-winning team.

The BPL player draft took place on October 14, and the upcoming season is expected to kick off in January 2024.
