Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan becomes the first spinner to take 100 wickets in the Pakistan Super League against Multan Sultans in PSL 10.
Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan etched his name in the record books on Wednesday by reaching 100 wickets in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Shadab achieved the milestone in the current PSL 10 fixture of Islamabad United against Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium, his 89th such appearance in the first division.
After his record-breaking dismissal of Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan, the Islamabad United captain then became the fourth bowler in PSL history to have reached the 100-wicket mark. This latest achievement adds another page to his increasing legacy as he is now only the fourth bowler to have done so.
The 26-year-old leg-spinner has been a constant in the PSL since 2017 when he made his debut, positioning himself as the league's most dependable and most economical wicket-keeper. His strike rate of slightly over 19 and career economy rate of slightly over 7.62 make him one of the most effective bowlers in the history of the tournament. He has also picked at least eight wickets in each season, with an individual best 5/28, a count that highlights his capacity to finish matches.
