Zimbabwe's all-rounder Sean Williams has announced his retirement from T20Is. According to sources, the left-hander made this decision following the conclusion of the recent five-match T20I series in Bangladesh. Bangladesh emerged victorious in the first four matches of the series, with Zimbabwe securing a consolation win on Sunday, marking Williams' departure from the format on a positive note. 

Interestingly, Williams only featured in the opening and closing matches of the series, signifying a symbolic bookend to his T20I career. Despite his limited presence in this particular series, Williams has been a stalwart for Zimbabwe cricket across formats, notably excelling in ODIs and Tests. Going forward, he intends to continue representing his country in these longer formats, bringing his wealth of experience and skill to the team's endeavors.

"He(Williams) decided to retire from T20I and informed about his decision to his team mates following the game," a BCB official working with the Zimbabwean confirmed on Sunday.

Sean Williams has been a pillar for Zimbabwe for a long time. Williams represented Zimbabwe in 81 T20Is. In those matches he scored 1691 runs with an average of 23.48 and a strike rate of 126.38. He has 11 T20I fifties to his name, with a highest score of 66.

Williams has been handy with his left arm spin as well, picking up 48 wickets.
