Pakistan have managed to get 143 runs losing four wickets by the end of the opening day of Multan Test. Only 41.3 overs were bowled on the first day due to foggy weather. Vice captain Saud Shakeel and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan's fifties have helped Pakistan finish the day on 143-4.

Earlier the day, Pakistan opted to bat first on a spinning deck but it was the fast bowler Jayden Seales who rocked the Pakistan top order in a jiffy, claiming three big wickets of debutant Mohammad Huraira, Babar Azam and Kamran Ghulam. While Gudakesh Motie had skipper Shan Masood as Pakistan were reduced to 46-4.


And then vice-captain Saud Shakeel and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan forged a sensational partnership of 97* runs which helped the hosts in recovery. Both of them notched up their fifties as the duo steered Pakistan to 143-4 by the end of the opening day of Multan Test.

Saud Shakeel is on 56* off 100 deliveries, whereas Mohammad Rizwan is on 51* off 80 deliveries as Pakistan will be eyeing from them to get hundreds and take them to the safe shores. On the contrary, the West Indies would be hoping to remove both of them inside the morning hour to get them the upperhand in this Test.
