Australia have pocketed the day two of the Boxing Day Test. Steve Smith's magnificent 140 helped the Aussies get to a massive 474 on the board. In reply, Pat Cummins and Scott Boland's dual blows each helped the Aussies get to commanding position.
Scott Boland brought Australia back into the game after a blossoming partnership between Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Steve Smith started exactly where he left off, he along with lower order put on a show. The 112-run stand propelled Australia over 400-mark barrier. Smith went on to score a magnificent 140 and fell against run of play but Australia were on a commanding position as Australia were all-out on 474 on the board.
In reply, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma fell to Pat Cummins as Rohit's ploy to bat at the top failed miserably. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul looked solid but a brute of a delivery from Pat Cummins got rid off Rahul.
Yashasvi Jaiswal then partnered up with Virat and both them were stitching a blossoming partnership and that looked ominous for the Aussies. However, a mix up in the crease got Jaiswal out after his superb 82 off 118 deliveries. In the very next over, Scott Boland once again got Virat and the Aussies were back into the game.
India are now on 164-5 and trailing the Aussies by 310 runs. Australia will be hoping to get the rest five batters earlier the next morning to have a massive lead after the first innings.
