India thrashed South Africa by 135 runs to clinch the series by 2-1 on Friday (November 15) in Johannesburg. Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma slammed hundreds as India recorded 283-1 on the board. In reply, they bowled South Africa for only 148 runs to have a massive win.
Opting to bat first, India had a brisk start. Sanju Samson and Abishek Sharma started off to a flier. The duo added 73 runs on the opening stand before Sipamla had Abishek for 36 off 18 balls.
But and then the real carnage started. Tilak and Samson stitched up for a record-breaking 210* run partnership. Both the batters notched up their hundreds.
India have amassed a mountainous 283 runs on the board. Sanju Samson blasted 109* off only 56 deliveries, including 9 sixes and 6 boundaries, while Tilak Varma smashed 120* off just 47 deliveries, which included 10 massive sixes and 9 boundaries.
Tilak Varma has become the only second Indian batter to make back-to-back centuries in T20I Cricket. Previously Sanju Samson has done this job.
In reply, South Africa crumbled infront of a quality Indian pace attack. South Africa lost their top four inside only 10 runs and inside the powerplay. However, they've put up a fight in their fifth wicket stand between Tristan Stubbs and David Miller but Varun Chakravarthy came in to break the stand.
South Africa were all-out for only 148 runs as they lost the game by a massive margin of 135 runs.
