After losing the toss, Bangla Tigers Hambantota were sent in to bat. Their innings got off to a rocky start as Kusal Perera was dismissed on the very first ball by Mohammad Amir. The middle order, however, crumbled under pressure. Bangladeshi star Sabbir Rahman had a forgettable outing, managing just 3 runs off 4 balls before being bowled by Trevin Mathew. Jaffna Titans had a minor hiccup early in their chase, losing Nuwanindu Fernando in the first over and Charith Asalanka in the third. However, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Tom Abell formed a formidable partnership, tearing apart the Hambantota bowling attack.
Cadmore reached his half-century in style, scoring an unbeaten 57 off just 21 balls, laced with six fours and four sixes. Abell complemented him perfectly, scoring an unbeaten 33 off 19 balls with five boundaries. The duo put together an unbroken stand of 75 runs off just 34 deliveries, sealing the win in just 8 overs.
