Bangladeshi cricketer Rony Talukdar has been signed by the Colombo Jaguars for the 2024 Lanka T10 Super League, becoming the third player from his country to join the tournament after Shakib Al Hasan and Soumya Sarkar. Rony confirmed the news through a heartfelt post on his official Facebook page.

"Excited to represent Colombo Jaguars in the Lanka T10 Super League, 2024. Thanks to the team management. Looking forward to a good season. Keep me in your prayers," Rony shared on social media.

An experienced performer in Bangladesh’s domestic cricket scene, Rony has been a regular in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) and National Cricket League (NCL). While he has had sporadic appearances in the Bangladesh national team, especially in T20Is, inconsistency in performance has kept him out of the squad across all formats.

However, this call-up to the Lanka T10 Super League marks a fresh opportunity for Rony to showcase his skills on an international stage.

Rony Talukdar joins two other Bangladeshi players in the tournament. Shakib Al Hasan will represent Galle Marvels, while Soumya Sarkar has been signed by Hambantota Bangla Tigers. Rony’s teammates at Colombo Jaguars include prominent international stars such as Asif Ali, Najibullah Zadran, Angelo Mathews, Kamindu Mendis, Matheesha Pathirana, and Tymal Mills.

The 2024 Lanka T10 Super League kicks off on December 11. Colombo Jaguars are set to play their first game on the opening day, facing Nuwara Eliya Kings in the second match. The high-paced competition will culminate with the final on December 19.
