Fortune Barishal beat Chittagong Kings in a thriller to clinch the consecutive titles of BPL. Tamim Iqbal's blistering fifty and Rishad Hossain's late heroics pulled off a heist at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Earlier on, Chittagong Kings have posted a mammoth 194 on the board in the Final of BPL 2025. Parvez Hossain Emon's blitzkrieg 78 off just 49 balls and Khawaja Nafay's 66 off 44 balls helped them get to a massive total.



Being inserted to bat first, Khawaja Nafay and Parvez Hossain Emon started off to a flier. Emon smashed two boundaries off Mayers to start the proceedings superbly and then in the next over he took on Tanvir Islam for two consecutive sixes and a boundary for a strong start. Chittagong Kings raced their way to 57 runs inside six overs only.

After the powerplay, Khawaja Nafay found his groove back and played the key supporting role with Emon as the duo pummelled Fortune Barishal bowlers at a bay. They forged a sensational 121-run opening stand off only 76 deliveries before the departure of Nafay after his fabulous 66 off 44 deliveries.

Emon then found hands in Graham Clark as the duo then kept the scoreboard ticking and the duo added 69 runs off 40 balls before Graham Clark was run-out after his 44 off 23 deliveries. Mohammad Ali bowled superbly in the last over to restrict Chittagong Kings inside 200 runs.

In reply, Tamim Iqbal gave Fortune Barishal a strong start, smashing three boundaries off Binura Fernando in the opening over and then he again hammered three boundaries off Shoriful Islam's over helping Barishal get to 57 runs inside the powerplay. The opening stand was worth of 76 runs off only 49 deliveries, whereas captain Tamim Iqbal blasted a sensational 54 off only 29 deliveries before his departure.

Towhid Hridoy played a negative innings, scoring 32 off 28 balls. Chittagong Kings sneakily were trying to get back into the game picking up wickets in quick successions but Kyle Mayers came out all the guns blazing and inching closer to victory but Shoriful Islam gave the much needed breakthrough, removing Mayers on 46 off 28 deliveries as Fortune Barishal needed 20 off the last two overs.

Rishad Hossain smashed a six and took a three off Binura Fernando, reducing the deficit to 8 off last over. Rishad hit a six off the first ball and then took a single and then a wide helped Fortune Barishal clinch BBL titles for the second times on the trot.
