Afghanistan are sensing a historic innings victory as Zimbabwe are limping in the second Test in Abu Dhabi, staying 234 runs behind in the second innings following-on.

Despite openers Prince Masvaure and Kevin Kasuza's solid start of 91-run partnership, short of support have had Zimbabwe rattled fot 287 runs in the first innings in reply to Afghanistan's mammoth 545/4. Masvaure scored 143-ball 65 runs at the top while Kasuza and Tarisai Musakanda made 41 off 90 each. Skipper Sean Williams, the centurion from the first Test, got dismissed for 8. Zimbabwe lost their momentum post-lunch on day three. All-rounder
played a fighting knock of 85 runs from 129 deliveries, hitting 7 fours and a six. He put on 53-run stand with Regis Chakabva when Zimbabwe were 189/6. Rashid Khan brought Afghanistan into the game again with the wicket of Chakabva (33 off 34), and sent back Raza to end Zimbabwe's first innings. Rashid took four wickets for 138 in 36.3 overs. Amir Hamza Hotak also chipped in with 3/73 while the sole seamer, left-armer, Sayed Shirzad took 2 fot 48. Apart from these three men, part-timer Javed Ahmadi bowled eight overs. Masvaure (3*) and Kasuza (20*) safely played 13 overs in the second innings as Zimbabwe finished on 24/0 in 23 overs. Zimbabwe face an uphill task in the next two days to take the series home.
