Rangpur Riders will miss their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the upcoming Global Super League, as the player is set to feature in a T10 tournament with Bangla Tigers. Rangpur’s captain, Nurul Hasan Sohan, expressed that Shakib's absence will undoubtedly be felt by the team.

During a press conference for the unveiling of the Global Super League jerseys, Rangpur Riders' captain Nurul Hasan Sohan addressed the media. When asked about the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Sohan stated, “No team in cricket can say they won’t miss a player like Shakib Bhai. Whether it’s with the bat, in the field, or as a bowler, his presence gives any team a major advantage. Of course, we will miss him. As far as I know, he is participating in a T10 league, and he will not be joining us for this tournament.”

The news of Shakib's involvement in the T10 tournament had already been confirmed earlier. A Rangpur official at the press conference mentioned, “You all heard the news about Shakib playing for Rangpur. I had already learned that he would be playing in the T10 league before that.”

The Global Super League is set to feature five franchises, and this year marks the debut of Rangpur Riders in a global T20 tournament. As the first Bangladeshi franchise to participate in such an event, Rangpur will start their campaign on November 27 against Hampshire Hawks.
