While the rest of the country will be gripped with election fever, coupled with earthquake phobia, 11 men, who we are used to see in red and green, will be donning in the whites, determined to prove a point about their ability in the traditional form of the game. Bangladesh team is confident after their exploits in the ODI and T20 games, where they won 4 in 4, and that too by huge margins. Pakistan did not look like putting up a fight for major parts of these games. Cometh the format of white clothing and red cherry, and Pakistan are a much better side. Their experience would be their main asset, and after the humiliation of the last couple of weeks, they would be willing to prove a point. Bangadesh team: Bangladesh squad for Tests had quite a few surprise names, and predicting an XI would be never easy. Plenty of things depend on the team strategy. The biggest question is, are the team considering Litton - Soumya as openers, or as lower order batsmen? If they are considered as openers, then any one of these two, and Imrul Kayes, will open the innings along with Tamim Iqbal. Shuvagoto Hom would then get a place as an all rounder in the No. 7 slot. But if anyone of them are brought down to no. 7, then Hom might miss out, while Kayes would open with Tamim. The permutations and combinations do not end there. The team management would have to make a choice between Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Shahid. Shahid has been a steady and consistent performer in domestic cricket, while Shahadat has the experience, though he has often disappointed by over using the short ball. Bangladesh (Playing XI): Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan Mushfiqur Rahim(w/c), Soumya Sarkar, Shuvagata Hom, Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Shahid Pakistan team: Pakistan team's biggest asset is their experienced batsmen Younus khan and Misbah ul Haq, who were not there in the limited overs games. They are adept at this format of the game, and coupled with Azhar Ali's form and prospects of talents like Sami Aslam being handed a debut, Pakistan's batting doesn't look that frail. In the bowling, though, they would need Saeed Ajmal to fire in these conditions. Their pacers haven't looked sharp till now, and Ajmal has been ineffective so far. However, Test cricket, as one always says, is a different ball game. Pakistan (Playing XI): Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq(c), Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed(w), Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan, Zulfiqar Babar Pitch and conditions: Khulna pitch has been traditionally been very slow in Test matches. There is not much for bowlers, especially in the first three days. But stroke making isn't that easy either, and one has to stay patient to graft out the runs. In the last two days, the spinners are likely to get some purchase from the wicket.
