West Indies have thrashed South Africa by 8 wickets (DLS method) to whitewash the proteas by 3-0 on Wednesday (August 28). Pooran, Hetmyer's crushing cameos helped West Indies chase down the given total inside 9 overs.

Due to the heavy rain, the match was reduced to 13 overs each side.

Being asked to bat first, Reeza Hendricks played a sub par innings, scoring 9 off 20 deliveries. Captain Aiden Markram too fell cheaply on 20 off 13 balls. While the opener Ryan Rickelton scored 27 off 24 balls. And South Africa didn't get the fluent way to start their innings.

It was Tristan Stubbs, who hammered 40 off just 15 deliveries to pummel West Indies. And helped South Africa post a competitive 108 on the board inside the given 13 overs.

In reply, Alick Athanaze fell earlier on. But Shai Hope hold things together to make a brisk 42* off 24 balls. Pooran came in as a floater and smacked all the way to 35 off only 13 balls, and he was assisted by Shimon Hetmyer, whoe blasted 31* off 17 deliveries to chase down the total inside 10 overs.

West Indies have now whitewashed South Africa in the T20I series, after being beaten in the Test series.
