Papua New Guinea Announced strong and experienced squad for the T20 World Cup camping 2024

In preparation for their second journey to the T20 World Cup, Papua New Guinea has put together an experienced squad that combines new talent with experience. Under the leadership of Assad Vala, the squad has qualified for the Caribbean tournament and is expected to make a significant impression after winning the East Asia-Pacific regional final in July 2023.
With ten players from their maiden 2021 campaign remaining, including captain Assad Vala, Papua New Guinea wants to maintain strength and consistency, Reflecting on their journey, Vala acknowledges the challenges faced in 2021 due to Covid complications but expresses confidence in the team's preparedness this time around
"The energy has been great within the team. For some of the boys who went to the last T20 World Cup, it's a different feeling now with a lot of the training because the last time was during Covid, and the preparation wasn't as good as what we're going through now. I am looking forward to this event because I know we are going to do well," Vala said as quoted by ICC
Papua New Guinea is starting their T20 World Cup journey with a big challenge. They play against hosts West Indies on June 2. Then, they'll meet Uganda on June 5. Both teams are aiming for their first-ever win in the tournament.
After that, Papua New Guinea plays against Afghanistan on June 13. It's another tough match. Then, they finish the group stage against New Zealand. It's going to be a hard-fought game.
