The Pakistan cricket team has arrived in Johannesburg from Durban for the second T20I match against South Africa scheduled for tomorrow.
The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Johannesburg from Durban, ahead of the second match of the T20 series against South Africa.
The team will begin preparations today for the crucial match scheduled to take place tomorrow. Pakistan will be looking to bounce back from an 11-run loss in the first T20I.
South Africa claimed an 11-run victory over Pakistan in the first T20I at Kingsmead, Durban, with George Linde and David Miller putting in outstanding performances.
The hosts posted a challenging total of 183/9, powered by explosive knocks from George Linde and David Miller.
Linde contributed with a strong all-round performance, scoring 48 off 24 balls and 4/21, while Miller's fiery 82 off 40 balls anchored the innings.
Although Shaheen Afridi (3-22) and Abrar Ahmed (3-37) kept South Africa at 183/9, Pakistan's comeback faltered. Mohammad Rizwan's slow start (74 off 62) and problems in the middle order left too much for the final overs. Debutant Kwena Maphaka's unsuccessful dismissal of Rizwan in the last over sealed the win for South Africa.
Despite the loss, the opening match was a remarkable milestone for Shaheen Afridi, who became the third Pakistani bowler to take 100 wickets in T20 Internationals. Shaheen also achieved the honour of becoming the first Pakistani player to take 100 wickets in all three formats of international cricket.
Pakistan will look to improve on their performance in the upcoming match and level the three-match series against the Proteas.
