The ECB (England Cricket Board) has announced XI for the first Test match against Pakistan, commences from Monday (October 7) in Multan. England's regular Test captain Ben Stokes is set to miss the first Test match as he's yet to recover from his hamstring tear. Ollie Pope will continue leading England.

England's top spinner Jack Leach has made a return to the England's Test side for the first time since India tour in January. Opening batter Zak Crawley also made a comeback to the lineup after missing out the home three-match Test series against Sri Lanka due to a broken finger, which he sustained during The Hundred.

Fast bowler Brydon Carse will make his Test debut for England.

Ollie Pope is set to lead England for another Test match after a succesful series against Sri Lanka, where England won the series by 2-1.

The previous time England toured Pakistan was a complete washout for Pakistan as The Three Lions crashed the hosts by 3-0.
